A live-in caregiver resides in the client's home and provides constant one-to-one assistance on a daily basis. They are trained in twenty-four hour care and are able to help when your loved one has trouble with daily activities like sleeping, bathing, and eating. They can also provide hands-on personal assistance, help with household chores, and help with special activities. Live-in Home Care Services

Live in home care services can include any of the usual services provided by our home care agency such as personal care, household support, companionship and specialized care.

Live-In Home Care Differs from 24-Hour Home Care

Live-in caregivers sleep and eat in the client's home. Some prefer this arrangement because it allows one caregiver to become intimately familiar with the client and form a deeper, more trusted relationship. Like Live-in home care, 24-Hour home care also provides 24 coverage but does so by providing several caregivers who work in shifts and do not reside in the home.

24 Hour Care

24-hour care is different because caregivers are booked to work and are not allocated breaks during their shift. This works by having either two caregivers on two 12-hour shifts or 3 caregivers on 8-hour shifts. During these shifts, the caregiver is not allocated a sleeping break. You can, depending on circumstances, allow the caregiver to sleep during the night shift. There is a difference in cost if the caregiver is allowed to sleep during the night or not.

The advantage of 24-hour care is that someone will be on hand at all times, even during the night, to provide in-home senior care. This can be particularly valuable for a hospice or critical care situation.
